Annie was born on October 21, 2011 (I know this post is a few days late :0). My delivery was very quick and not expected on this day. I had been to my doctor on Tuesday and was still at a 2 (had been there for a couple of weeks), my doctor said see you next week. Friday night I woke up about midnight (right as John got in to bed) and my water had broke. We called the hospital and they said I can come in within the hour. So I showered, shaved my legs, looked at the list of all the stuff I was going to do Saturday to get ready,packed Eli a little bag, and dropped him off at Grandma Colleen's . Anyway, once I got to the my hospital room they said do you want the epideral? Sure as heck do!!! The guy came in and then got called to an emergency c-section so he hooked me up and gave me a little bit for pain, then had to come back in to finish it up. I ended up with epiderals because the first one only numbed my right side, not fun at all. Once I got the second one in, life was fantastic! Annie got here at 9:24 AM.

Trip to Illinois

On Saturday we took a trip to Illinois to visit Eli's great uncle Doc and aunt Phyllis. Eli calls uncle Doc, uncle "Goc". He had a fun time visiting and meeting them. These are pictures from our trip there, while we were there, and our trip back.

Adventureland

We went to Adventureland this past weekend. Eli had a very good time. He wanted to go on all the big rides. Lots of pictures!!!

On the 4th we went to Des Moines and picked up Ethan and Alisha. Eli was so excited to see them! He tried running up the escalator as they were coming down! Later that night, we all went to Aunt "Glenna's" to watch fireworks and have a BBQ. Eli had a lot of fun running around. There were lots of little kids there.

Scovill Campout

We went to the Scovill Campout. Saturday, we were able to spend the entire day there. Eli had a lot of fun!!!

Hand, Foot and Mouth

Okay, if my child gets one more childhood disease......So Eli has now had the following: Roseola, Fifth's Disease, and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. His latest, causes blisters to form on his, you guessed it, Hands, Feet and Mouth. He woke up one morning and had little bumps on his bottom. I thought that it just might be his new underwear cause him a little irritation. The next morning he woke up and had these spots all over his feet and legs. By the afternoon, he had them around his mouth and on his little hands. So I called the doctor, and he wnated us to come in since we were leaving on vacation in a few days and wouldn't be back for awhile.
The doctor came right in and said it was Hand, Foot and Mouth.
Apparently, it usually starts with a high fever with the bumps occuring a few days later. Eli never had the fever. Eli started out with just the bumps, but a few days after we went to the doctor, he began to get the blisters. His hands got wrapped so they wouldn't pop. He had to wear his "slippalas" (slippers) for a few days on his feet because his shoes gave him "owies". Poor boy!
He is now on the up side, the spots are gone. A few of his blisters on his toes are still there, popped, but still hurt him a little. These are pictures from when he first started getting the bumps and blisters.

First Visit to the Dentist

Eli had his first trip to the dentist in May (I think). He loved sitting in the big chair and making it go up and down. The staff were really cute with him and came out and got him from the waiting room. He got to look around the office before he sat in the chair. After the dentist checked his teeth, Eli got a new toothbrush and got to pick a toy from the treasure chest.

We took Eli on a little explore on Easter sunday with some friends that were in town. He was acting very big and didn't want our help, even as he was falling down the rock......my boy is growing up!

For Easter this year we went to my mom's house on Saturday. We colored eggs, and had an egg hunt. Eli loved it!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning

We spent Christmas in Iowa this year. On Christmas Eve we went to the Scovill family Christmas party where Santa came. Eli wasn't to thrilled alot sitting on his lap. While we were at the Christmas party, Santa came to our house! Eli had fun opening presents.

A Walk in Nature

Grandma Colleen took Eli to a nature walk a few days ago. Eli loved it!!!! His favorite part was watching the ducks, which he spent about 20 minutes watching.

These are some pictures of Halloween this year. Eli had fun digging in the pumpkin, and was very helpful in putting back all the seeds once I removed them. :0)
We went trunk or treating with my parents ward so that Eli could have some kids to walk around with, after we went to a few houses. Eli did really well at trunk or treat when I said "choose one" he would only take one, then put it back in the bowl and choose something different. He really liked Grandpa's bowl and decided to get two handfuls of pencils.

Eli decided to drink my perfume tonight. Since I will be up for the next 4 hours watching him, I decided to blog.

Eli drank about 25 mL of Celine Dion perfume. He was acting all loopy and falling over, not being able to hold his sippy cup, etc. So I called poison control and they told me that because it had only been about 10 minutes and he already was acting loopy that it would be a good idea to take him in to the E.R. just to make sure.

We weren't there long, which I am sooooooooo grateful for. The Dr. came in and talked to us about what the effects were (high blood sugar and alcohol level). He said that if it was child he wouldn't do blood tests on him because they would treat it all the same way no matter what the tests showed. So we opted out of doing blood tests. We felt comfortable with this since we are only 3-5 minute drive to the hospital.

The Dr. said that he will be extremely hyper because of the blood sugar level and that he would be acting like he was drunk. We are suppose to watch him tonight and make sure that he isn't rolling over and suffocating, or vomiting. Everything is going well right now.. He's sleep on my lap and acting ok.

For some good news (what I was planning on posting today )

Eli is getting to be a little boy now, not just a baby. He has now figured out how to climb on top of the stove and freezer. He can point to any body part, if we ask him where it is. He says new words: eye lash, trees, knees, all done. Eli is getting so big, running anywhere and everywhere he goes. He loves going to the park with his grammy now that it is getting cooler during the day. We usually take him to the park for family night because he loves it so much. We have a little park up the road that has a special playground for toddlers that is just his size, so it is a lot easier to let him run and play knowing that is he falls it isn't too far from the ground.

A Much Needed Update

I've been informed by about everyone that I haven't posted any new pictures for awhile, so here is what has been going on with our little family.

Eli is all over the place. Getting into everything. Trying to do things he can not do, but tries every time. (that is why his head has a constant bruise on it somewhere). He's is so funny. I will ask him questions and he always says "yes". He can now successfully walk down the stairs with a railing, he makes it about 2 steps without one. He loves playing outside, because he can run forever and still have plenty more room to go. Some other words he says are "dog" "woof woof" "ba ba" (baa baa) "ba b" (bye bye). He can also climb into the car and get in his seat (if he wants to go in, usually we have to hog time him though). He gets into his high chair all by himself when he thinks he needs something to eat. I love him so much!!!

John is now teaching 5th grade at Diamond Valley. He is also doing his internship for his administrative endorsement, and also is teaching a college course at Dixie State. He's a busy go this year with lots to do, never a minute to relax without something due. He says it will be worth it after this year. The first semester of his internship will be at Diamond Valley and next semester will be at the high school and district office. He's doing great!

I am teaching 4th grade at Arrowhead. I also started selling Pampered Chef this month, which I am very excited to do. I have a great lady over me that is helping me to get started to pick up lots of business. I will let you know how it is going in future blogs.

Lost Island Waterpark

We went to Lost Island Waterpark today. It was alot of fun. Here are some highlights of our trip
**Eli loved playing in the kiddie area, going down the slides with absolutely no fear
**Eli loved the wave pool and it was very difficult to get him to keep his head above the water...he purposely was putting his head under, coming up and laughing
**I was very brave (all of you who know me realize these feats were a big deal for me) I went on a drop slide and a huge giant "toilet bowl" slide
**John had a good time going on all of the slides there...one major thing with John he went on the "toilet bowl" slide and his glasses flew off and broke! We will be going to the eye doctor tomorrow because he is one blind man without them

The pictures at the park were after we went to the zoo, but I accidently put them on backwards....:0)
We went to the Blank Park Zoo today in Des Moines. Eli was able to feed a giraffe and able to ride on a camel. Eli's favorite thing was riding on the train to see the animals, but he liked walking around the zoo too. Here are some pictures of Eli's first trip to the zoo. After the zoo we stopped at McDonald's to get something to eat, and then we went to teh park.

John and I took Eli to the park tonight. Eli loved it and of course threw a fit when it was time to leave. Hope you like the pictures!! He was walking around like he was the biggest kid there, scared Grandpa. Eli loved going down the slides all by himself, even though he fell a couple of times, he was right back up going down again. Eli also liked swinging on the swings, not slow of course, but high. He was laughing his head off.

We made it through two airplane rides with Eli!! We had a nice night in Las Vegas, so we didn't have to get up too early for the flight. Eli slept on the 2 1/2 hour plane ride to Minneapolis and then was wide awake for our 30 minute flight to Des Moines. Luckily he was a ham to ladies sitting next to us and kept him entertained.
We are planning to go to the swimming pool tomorrow, if it doesn't rain, so I should have some pictures to put up sometime soon.

This past weekend we took a family trip up north to Logan. We spent time visiting with family up there. The day we left, Eli got locked in the car! Yes, that's right, a car that supposedly has a child safety feature. (it's not suppose to lock if the keys are inside) I was very upset, but my mom took pictures because she said that someday I would want to scrapbook this event in his life. Both John and I are VERY grateful that we found out this feature doesn't work when we were up in Logan on a day it was cool outside, rather than in St. George.
